Modifications to the Outbound Baggage Handling System, Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport

GES provided mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection engineering services for the modification and replacement of the outbound baggage handling system for American Airlines.

The project included engineering support for the new baggage handling systems; relocation of the tug charging stations, the TSA screening station, and the airline storage cage; and modification of exhaust air ducts, conduits, pipes, and the hot water/chilled water pipes in the Center Pier bag room.

A series of plumbing piping systems will be relocated to accommodate clearance requirements for the proposed conveyor layout in the baggage level. GES provided plumbing engineering design services to relocate the domestic cold, hot, and hot water recirculation piping, vent piping, storm water piping, and natural gas piping to a higher elevation at the conveyor entrance area of the connector tunnel in coordination with relocated ductwork and mechanical piping.
