Senior Plumbing Engineer

We are looking for a highly motivated Senior Plumbing Engineer to be part of our Bethesda, Maryland office.  As the Senior Plumbing Engineer, responsibilities will include:

  • Designing plumbing systems including medical/laboratory piping and gases.
  • Overseeing the preparation of technical drawings, specifications of plumbing systems and topographical maps.
  • Leading project teams and serving as the primary contact for discipline with clients.
  • Preparing specifications for purchases of materials and equipment.
  • Developing calculations for plumbing systems and associated controls.
  • Performing QA/QC of design work.

The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  • A minimum of 10 years’ design experience.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field is preferred.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit and MS Office.
  • Proven ability to successfully lead teams and manage projects.
  • Must have a thorough knowledge of plumbing design and corresponding terminology.
  • Excellent ability to read, interpret and implement plumbing design documentation.
  • Experience with laboratories/medical facilities design is preferred.
  • Excellent work ethic and attitude.
  • Good communication and time management skills.
  • Interpersonal communication skills, combined with organizational skills, the ability to plan, balance and prioritize work.

Director of Plumbing Engineering

We are looking for a highly motivated Director of Plumbing Engineering to be part of our Bethesda, Maryland office.  As the Director of Plumbing Engineering, responsibilities will include:

  • Leading, directing and supervising plumbing engineering operations.
  • Managing plumbing engineering activities and approach over a range of processes.
  • Developing goals, policies and objectives for the department and functions.
  • Reviewing technical concepts of major projects and solving technical problems.
  • Managing concerns of the project such as cost, completion date and resource allocation.
  • Providing expert resolution of issues and monitoring integration of work.

 

The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  • A minimum of 15 years’ design experience.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field is preferred.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit and MS Office.
  • PE and/or CPD is preferred.
  • Proven ability to successfully lead department, teams and manage projects.
  • A strong track record of engineering management, performance, unit cost control and employee development.
  • Experience in project management techniques with the ability to concurrently handle multiple project assignments.
  • Must have a complete knowledge of plumbing design and corresponding terminology.
  • Excellent ability to read, interpret and implement plumbing design documentation.
  • Experience with laboratories/medical facilities design.

Project Plumbing Engineer

GES is looking for a highly motivated Plumbing Engineer to add to our team. Responsibilities include:

  • Designing plumbing systems including medical/laboratory piping and gases.
  • Development of system design calculations, and selection of equipment for use in buildings.
  • Preparation of detailed design documents.
  • Specification writing/editing.
  • Code compliance research.
  • Coordinating work with other disciplines.
  • Site survey to determine and document existing conditions.
  • Providing construction administration services.
    The successful candidate will possess the following minimum qualifications:

    • 5-15 years of design experience.
    • Excellent work ethic and attitude.
    • Good communication skills.
    • Must be proficient in AutoCAD and MS Office. REVIT experience is preferred.
    • CPD preferred.
    • Research Laboratory/Health Care experience is a plus.
    • LEED certification/experience a plus.
    • Familiarity with codes, standards and design guidelines.
