Renovation and Expansion of Engine 6

The existing Ashburn Volunteer Fire Department has out grown their existing facility and needed a new facility that would allow them to perform their duties more efficiently. Funded by donations, the solution was to demolish the existing structure leaving only the Foundry Hall, which accommodates their eating area and main kitchen. A new 36,000 sf eight bay facility was built adjoining Foundry Hall. In addition to the MEP & FP engineering systems, GES was responsible for the interconnection and coordination with special systems including the alerting and antenna systems.

Project was recognized in the November 2016 edition of the Firehouse Station Design Awards.
